Cynthia grew up drawing, painting and playing music, a duality which has continued lifelong.
She completed a bachelor's degree in applied flute at the New England Conservatory of Music.
While in Boston, she also took courses in Chinese Brush Painting as well as taking art classes
at the Cambridge center for Adult Ed., and Massachusetts College of Art.
While maintaining an interest in music which now includes playing Celtic harp, pennywhistle and Early
instruments, she has taken on an active career as an artist. She is the Secretary for Vermont
Watercolor Society, and exhibits extensively in New England. Recently she has been in juried shows at
the Hunter Lea Gallery in Ludlow, Vermont, and at the Woodstock Folk Art and Antiquities in Woodstock,
Vermont. She was just invited to show at a beautiful new Gallery and Frame shop in New Hampshire,
te Stonewall Gallery.
Cynthia has a successful business doing animal portraits and has been invited to create paintings
to be used as prizes for several dog shows and National Specialties.
Cynthia states that in her work she tries to capture the elusive spirit of a being, be it animal, human, plant
or stone. Her goal is to give them life on paper with the hope that she might convey the feeling
that all these precious beings are to be treasured and honored.
