Hazel Kruger was born in South Africa, and waited until her children were grown before pursuing a painting career. Hazel has painted everything from flowers to live models in a studio, but having had a lifelong love of nature and animals, especially cats, in 1998 she decided to concentrate on wildlife.

She is a perfectionist and likes to depict the animals and birds with as much detail and realism as possible, preferring to paint them in their natural environment.

She has had her work featured in the Wildlife Art Magazine and has won many awards in both local and international juried exhibitions. Hazel has participated in numerous group and 2-person exhibitions, and her paintings hang in private and corporate collections locally and in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, Canada, Indonesia and Austria.
