Marilyn was born and raised in the Midwest of the United States, raised on a farm and returned to the
farm after a few short years, where she and her husband raise cattle.
She has enjoyed drawing and art since early childhood always having a connection to the animals
and enjoying their beauty, which she always thought she could preserve forever by painting them.
She has learned her trade by taking workshops with well known wildlife artists through the years
and refining her technique, working in acrylics, watercolor and gouache, scratchboard, with colored ink,
colored pencil and oils.
She strives to get a fresh look at the subject matter, working in vibrant colors
with lots of detail. When she paints a horse, she always wants you to feel like you can pat their nose,
or stroke the fur on a big cat.
Her work is in many private collections through out the United States. She has had work published by Leanin’Tree
Western Card company which enjoys a circulation in every state and also outside of the U.S.
Marilyn belongs to Women Artist of the West, a juried selection of professional women artist.
She does some of the larger Western & Wildlife shows throughout the year, selling and displaying her work.
She will do a limited number of commissions. If you are interested,
please email the artist.
