“Everything I see, everywhere I look, a painting waits to come to life.
Creative minds have proclaimed their feelings through various forms of
expression for millennia, but it is the painting that communicates a
simple or complex message in an instant. It sees no age or gender, and
speaks every language found on earth. My paintings are a celebration
of life. They are momentary journeys that are filled with natures
richness, beauty and dignity and they provide a temporary shelter from
our otherwise fast paced busy world.”
Linda Rossin specializes in birds and mammals of North America and East
Africa, and is quickly gaining respect for her works portraying the
great cats of the world. She is especially interested in the
Impressionists and integrates some of their techniques into her own
paintings, bringing some careful detail to her larger works and a touch
of Impressionism to her miniatures. Linda is one of the few
professional American wildlife painters who embody animals in the
traditional miniature* format. Although she specializes in these highly
collectible little gems, she has been known to produce paintings as
large as six feet. Linda works primarily with acrylic paint, but
enjoys switching to oil for plein air and oversized pieces.
An adventurous sprit has taken Ms. Rossin on many interesting artistic
journeys--from silversmithing to fashion design, then on to becoming a
top graphic designer in New York City. But since early childhood it was
the animal that always piqued Linda’s interest. It wasn’t until she
discovered the exciting world of wildlife art that she felt she had
finally found the roots of her true calling. Since that time hard work
and a passion for art and the animal have garnered her many distinctive
honors and awards.
Linda has participated in the Annual Exhibition and National Tour of
Art and the Animal presented by the Society of Animal Artists. The
World Federation of Miniaturists accepted her work for inclusion in The
Third Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature hosted by The Smithsonian in
Washington, DC. Linda’s emotionally stimulating paintings have also
been featured in numerous publications and books, including The Best of
Wildlife Art, Volumes 1 and 2. She is signed with the Bradford
Exchange and her ever growing number of self-published limited edition
prints are being sold throughout the United States and Canada.
Ms. Rossin participates in many prestigious national and international
shows and has served as both juror and judge for several international
miniature art exhibitions. She is an elected Signature Member of the
Society of Animal Artists (SAA) and also holds memberships in the Cider
Painters of America (CPA), the Miniature Art Society of Florida (MASF),
Nature Art International and the Worldwide Nature Artists Group (WNAG).
Linda’s paintings are included in private collections throughout the
United States and can frequently be viewed in exhibitions at the Hiram
Blauvelt Art Museum in Oradell, NJ. Her gallery representation
includes: Art of the Hunt Gallery, Greenwich, NY; Cardinal Art Gallery,
Vernon, NJ; Decoys & Wildlife Gallery, Frenchtown, NJ; and John Tucker
Fine Arts, Savannah, GA.
