Diane Weiman is a South African artist who specialises in painting African wildlife and birds in their
natural environment. Her paintings are well known for lifelike realism and sensitivity. Diane's work
is inspired by her love of the African bush and its animals.
She lives in Johannesburg but is fortunate enough to be within a few hours of the famous Kruger National
Park as well as many other game reserves in this area, thus giving easy access to both photo and sketching
opportunities of the Big Five as well as many other animals seen in their natural habitat.
Diane is an active supporter of conservation and of animal rights.
Pastel is her chosen medium as it lends itself to fine detail and Diane will often draw from various
photographs and sketches to compose a painting which will give the effect she wants. Her art is represented
in corporate offices, game lodges and private homes. Diane's original paintings and limited edition prints
are to be found in the U.S.A. the U.K. New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, Israel and Spain.
She has had numerous group and solo exhibitions in and around South Africa.
